RIP Stephen Webb (1961-2016)

Dr. Stephen H. Webb passed away yesterday, just a week shy of turning 55. Naturally, one should keep both him and his family in their prayers during this tragic time.

Webb is well-known to Latter-day Saints and others for writing/contributing to some wonderful articles (e.g., "Mormonism Obsessed with Christ") and books, including:

Mormon Christianity: What Other Christians Can Learn from the Latter-day Saints

Catholic and Mormon: A Theological Conversation (with Alonzo L. Gaskill)

Jesus Christ, Eternal God: Heavenly Flesh and the Metaphysics of Matter

The Gifting God: A Trinitarian Ethics of Excess

The Dome of Eden: A Solution to the Problem of Creation and Evolution

Below is a video presentation Webb gave entitled, "Mormon Christianity: What Other Christians Can Learn from the Latter-day Saints":

I a reminded of the final words of my favourite Gregorian Chant, "Dies Irae" (all the more a propos as Webb was a Roman Catholic):

Pie Jesu Domine,
Dona eis requiem. Amen (Merciful Lord Jesus, grant them rest. Amen)
