Charles W. Penrose on the Marital Status of Jesus

While serving as editor for the Improvement Era, the Church's monthly publication until 1970, Charles W. Penrose wrote the following in the September 1912 issue:

Question 2: Do you believe that Jesus was married?

Answer: We do not know anything about Jesus Christ being married. The Church has no authoritative declaration on the subject. ("Editor's Table," Improvement Era volume 15 no. 11 [1912]:1042; available online here)
