Mark S. Smith on Biblical Authors Believing that God Exists in a human-like form

In his essay, “The Sexuality of God in the Hebrew Bible,” notwithstanding claiming God “transcends Gender,” Mark. S. Smith teaches that the Biblical authors envision God as having a "human-like" form:

There are also passages referring to God in a manner that transcends gender. Genesis 1:27 represents the human person, both male and female, as the image of God, suggesting that God is neither male nor female. Ezekiel 1:26 envisions God’s body in human terms, “something that seemed like a human form.” In this case, too, God is beyond the category of human gender. (Mark S.
