Paul A. Douglas (critic): Joseph Smith did make a number of prophecies that have been fulfilled

Notwithstanding being a critic of the Church (and presenting a number of purported “false prophecies” of Joseph Smith), critic Paul A. Douglas is forced to admit that Joseph Smith did make some prophecies that have been fulfilled (although there are more than these):

Joseph did declare a number of prophecies that unquestionable came to fruition including:

·       Smith would be spoken of for good and evil among all nations, kindreds, and tongues—Joseph Smith History 1:33.

·       The Saints will gather in one place (Utah).—D&C 29:8

·       During the captivity in Liberty Jail, no one’s lives would be taken—Hearsay but attributed to Smith.

·       Smith will not return to Missouri – History of the Church 5:216.

·       Stephen A. Douglas to run for president – History of the Church 5:394.

·       Stakes to be established in Boston and New York – History of the church 6:319.

·       Joseph and Hyrum Sith to die if re-captured – History of the church 6:546.

·       Dan Jones to serve a mission to Wales – History of the Church 6:601.

·       The Saints would escape their enemies within five years – History of the church, Vol. 6, p. 225. By 1849.

·       The Escape of Stephen Markham – History of the Church Volume 3, p. 316. (Paul A. Douglas, A Letter to An Apostle: Another Testament of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon [Seattle, Wash.: Belfast Books, 2017], 311)

The above list mirrors much of that of Jeff Lindsay's in his Mormon Answers: Fulfilled Prophecies of Joseph Smith, except for D&C 87 (which Douglas claims is a false prophecy) and the Rocky Mountain prophecy.
