Edwin Rushton dug in the ground in the city of Nauvoo, Illinois,
as a dream had previously shown, and obtained a seer-stone about five feet
underground, on May 4, 1846. He was a resident of Nauvoo at the time he
obtained it. The stone, which still exists, appears to be a little smaller than
a quarter of a baseball, and is crystal clear. He never tried to use the stone,
as far as we know. It now reposes in the possession of his son-in-law, C. W.
