Timothy F. Kauffman (Protestant) on the Restrainer of 2 Thessalonians 2:5-6

We wonder, then, how is the restrainer that “with holdeth” until the Son of Perdition, the Wicked One, be revealed, an oral instruction to which Paul referred in the second chapter of 2 Thessalonians:

Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. (2 Thessalonians 2:5-6)

The Thessalonians were plainly instructed to hold fast to that particular oral tradition. (Timothy F. Kauffman, A Gospel Contrary! A Study of Roman Catholic Abuse of History and Scripture to Propagate Error [2023], 22-23, italics in original)
