Edward Healy Thompson (19th-century RC) Calling Origen a "Father" of the Church

Context: belief among some Matt 1:19 should be interpreted that “. . . Joseph, reputing himself a sinner and unworthy, did not think it fitting to live familiarly with one whose surpassing dignity inspired him with awe” (p. 200):

 

But who are the Fathers to whom [St. Bernard] alludes? There are an Origen, a Jerome, a Basil, a Remigius, author of a fragmentary work which has been attributed to St. Chrysostom, a Theophylact, and others.
