Do good, O Lord, to thos who are good, and to those who are upright in their hearts. (Psa 125:4 NRSV)
This is yet another verse that is contrary to Reformed theology and the concept of the total depravity of man; in this text, the psalmist requests Yahweh to recompense people according to their deeds, which are not labelled as filthy rags, but instead are "good" in His eyes (Heb: טוֹב LXX: αγαθος); furthermore, these people are not said to be merely labelled as righteous due to an alien imputation; instead, they are said simply to be "upright" (alt: straight) in their hearts (Heb: יָשָׁר LXX: ευθυς).
Latter-day Saints and others are being faithful to the biblical texts and theology by rejecting Reformed theology on this point and many others.
