Christ's
Prophecy Is Being Fulfilled Today
As previously mentioned, during
the Savior's appearance and acceptance of the temple on Sunday, April 3, 1836,
the Lord told Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery:
Yea the hearts of thousands and
tens of thousands shall greatly rejoice in the consequence of the blessings
which shall be poured out, and the endowments with which my servants have been
endowed in this house. And the fame of this house shall spread to foreign
lands, and this is the beginning of the blessings which shall be poured out
upon the heads of my people. (see D&C 110:9-10)
It is amazing to know the Savior's
prophetic prophecy is being literally fulfilled today. Who could have imagined
back in 1836, that by the year 2020 there would be over 16,500,000 members of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints worldwide rejoicing in the
consequence of the blessing received from the endowment of power ordinances
performed in the Kirtland Temple. In addition, there are also an estimated
250,000 members of the Community of Christ worldwide who also rejoice in the blessings
that come to them from the Kirtland Temple. (C. Richard James, The Kirtland
