Mauro Gagliardi on Predestination in Catholic Theology

Divine predestination is infallible, but this does not take away, the fact that God includes conditionality in it. God predestines, from eternity, Mary to be the Mother of Christ is the case in which, and at the same time knowing infallibly that, man will freely sin. Thus the infallibility of predestination is due to this infallible knowledge on the part of God, while the freedom of Adam’s deed is preserved by the conditionality that God includes in His decree of Our Lady’s predestination.
