Romanos the Melodist (6th century) on Mary being "All Holy"

Hymn 2: On Fasting, Stanza 24

English:

  from the Virgin and all-holy

Mary the immaculate Theotokos; therefore, we fall before you.

Through the entreaties of your mother, give your servants eternal life. (Saint Romanos the Melodist: Hymns of Repentance [trans. Andrew Mellas; Popular Patristics Series 61; Yonkers, N.Y.: St Vladimir’s Seminary Press, 2020], 67)

Greek:

(Ibid., 66)

The term in bold comes from αχραντος, literally, "without stain" (alt. undefiled, immaculate).
