The Didache’s use of the title Κυριος is similar to the New Testament, which
is described as borrowed by Palestinian Jews for Yahweh and later borrowed by
Palestinian Jewish Christians for Jesus. This suggests that the title implies a
setting of Jesus on a par with Yahweh, but not an identifying of him with
Yahweh, as he is not Abba. This implies a higher Christology in the
