Mina Fouad Tawfike and Emad Atef Ezzat Hanna on the use of κυριος ("Lord") for Jesus in the Didache

The Didache’s use of the title Κυριος is similar to the New Testament, which is described as borrowed by Palestinian Jews for Yahweh and later borrowed by Palestinian Jewish Christians for Jesus. This suggests that the title implies a setting of Jesus on a par with Yahweh, but not an identifying of him with Yahweh, as he is not Abba. This implies a higher Christology in the Didache and the participation of Jesus in the divine identity.
