In Epistle to Diognetus 9, we read the following in the Greek:
καὶ τὸ καθʼ ἑαυτοὺς
φανερώσαντες ἀδύνατον εἰσελθεῖν εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ τῇ δυνάμει τοῦ θεοῦ
δυνατοὶ γενηθῶμεν
In ANF 1:128, we have the following
English translation: "and having made it manifest that in ourselves we
were unable to enter into the kingdom of God, we might through the power of God
be made able."
"Made able" is δυνατοὶ γενηθῶμεν.
The verb used is γινομαι which means to be produced/made/created/manufactured.
In other words, we have an early (first to second century) example of transformative
justification.
