Stephen Markham's July 6, 1868 Recollection of a Contingent Prophecy/Promise Joseph Made Concerning William Law

  

S. Markham – Said he was with the [prophet] Joseph while he was making the New Translation said if Wm. Law had carried out the Revelation of Joseph in regard to the translation he would have not it, but “Law” did not, and he heard Joseph say we would not receive it, referred to S. Rigdon dropping him as councillar and the statement – that Joseph had rolled the burdens from his shoulders on to the Twelve (Provo School of the Prophets, July 6, 1868, 52 MSS 7979, Brigham Young University, L.
