Here is an mp3 of a debate between Catholic apologist Robert Sungenis and Matt Slick, a Reformed Presbyterian and president of CARM. The topic was supposed to be the Bodily Assumption of Mary, but it quickly moved onto the issue of sola scriptura. While I disagree with Sungenis on the topic of Mariology, especially when they briefly discussed/debated the meaning of κεχαριτωμένη in Luke 1:28 (though Slick did a poor job on this verse, too) and on other issues, Slick lost--badly--on the overall discussion of sola scriptura (he even appealed to 1 Cor 4:6[!] to support this doctrine). Admittedly, it is fun to hear Slick get “owned” as young people like to say, showing his lack of exegetical abilities and consistency.
Sungenis contributed to, and edited, one of the best volumes critiquing this false doctrine, Not by Scripture Alone: A Catholic Critique of the Protestant Doctrine of Sola Scriptura (Queenship, 1997) which I highly recommend to Latter-day Saints who interact with Evangelicals on a regular basis. Remember, if sola scriptura is false the entirety of Protestantism collapses into the man-made heap that it truly is.
