I would like to recommend the following volume:
Jared W. Ludlow, Exploring the Apocrypha from a Latter-day Saint Perspective (Springville, Utah: CFI, 2018)
My copy arrived today and it was read immediately. A good book on the Apocryphal ("Deutero-canonical" in Catholic and Eastern Orthodox circles) books from an informed LDS perspective has long been over-due. Ludlow, who wrote a book on one of the books of the pseudepigrapha, Abraham Meets Death: Narrative Humor in the Testament of Abraham (Sheffield: Sheffield Academic Press, 2002), knows the issues very well, and it comes out in this volume. This book strikes a good balance between scholarship and accessibility to a non-scholarly audience. LDS and even those who accept the canonicity of these volumes (e.g., Catholics; Eastern Orthodox) will appreciate this text.
