Brigham Young, in a sermon dated February 27, 1853, understood Heb 2:14 to be a future event:
Some might argue that this
principle would lead to the re-organization of Satan, and all the devils. I say
nothing about this, only what the Lord says—that when he comes, “he will
destroy death, and him that has power of it.” (JOD 1:118)
