John Calvin was a master of
exegesis, theology, evangelical encouragement, and polemics. Allowing his words
to enter and influence the discussion always enriches any issue with depth and
the need seriously to engage his ideas. Often we find that what he has said
states the truth more clearly and boldly and with greater overall coherence
