Although the book was frankly piss poor, at least Thom Hobson in his 2019 anti-LDS book admitted that contra Fawn Brodie, "Nauvoo" is indeed a real Hebrew word:
Joseph and some of his leaders did have a few Hebrew lessons from a Jew
named Joshua Seixas. Joseph is correct when he names his city of Nauvoo after
the Hebrew word “beautiful” (nawū). (Thom Hobson, The Historical Jesus
