Matthew Roper's 2016 FairMormon Conference presentation, “To Inflict the Wounds of Death”: Mesoamerican Swords and Cimeters in the Book of Mormon has just been posted online. Matt hits a home run in this one; this paper forever refutes the claim that the depiction of swords in the Old and New World settings of the Book of Mormon are anachronistic, as are the references to scimitars (BOM "cimeters"); click here for the PDF of the corresponding powerpoint presentation.
