One of my favourite evidences for the historicity of the Book of Mormon is that of Mulek, the Son of Zedekiah. IMO, it is a "direct hit" in terms of the antiquity of the Book of Mormon. For good discussions of this evidence, see the following:
Jeffrey R. Chadwick, Has the Seal of Mulek Been Found?
Jeff Lindsay, Mulek, Son of Zedekiah
Robert F. Smith, New Information about Mulek, Son of Zedekiah
FairMormon, Did one of King Zedekiah's sons, Mulek, escape and come to the New World?

As Jeff Lindsay concludes in his article on Mulek:
[O]ne thing is clear: the Book of Mormon account is highly plausible, and offers details consistent with modern scholarship in ways that seem to make Joseph Smith either a miraculously lucky guesser, or a miraculously blessed prophet who translated a genuine ancient record with the power of God.
