I have recently been "spammed" by an ex-Mormon on twitter who engaged in a hit-and-run by claiming that Joseph Smith got the theology behind D&C 76 from Emanuel Swedenborg but immediately retreated when they realised I have read Emanuel Swedenborg's works (they were relying upon secondhand information, probably from D. Michael Quinn or Jeremy Runnells).
A really good article refuting this claim would be an article by J.B. Haws. It was entitled:
Joseph Smith, Emanuel Swedenborg, and Section 76: Importance of the Bible in Latter-day Revelation
Enjoy!
