Today, I read a very interesting volume:
Andrew M.T. Dibb, Servetus, Swedenborg and the Nature of God (University Press of
America, Inc., 2005)
The volume contained a very good discussion
of the theology of God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit in the writings of these
two figures, as well as Tertullian.
I am sure many readers of this blog will
wish to pursue the writings of these three (often controversial) figures to
compare and contrast the later theology of Joseph Smith:
