The every anti-intellectual FIRM Foundation held a conference in Salt Lake City recently. Two presenters, James F. and L. Hannah Stoddard, tried to argue against the overwhelming evidence for Joseph Smith's use of a seer stone in a hat. My friend, Stephen Smoot, who attended the conference, kept notes and responded thusly:

The FIRM Foundation, Meldrum, Jonathan Neville, the Stoddards, etc are all a joke and should be avoided. They are more of a danger to Latter-day Saints than any anti-Mormon group.
