In an attempt to explain away texts such as John 14:28 ("my Father is greater than I"), Trinitarian apologist Imad N. Shehadeh wrote the following, which really smacks of 'divine deception':
From the physical perspective,
Christ is the offspring of David and the Israelites. But from the
perspective of the Spirit and the divine, he is the Son of God the Father.
He is God in nature above all, and in him dwells the fullness of God. Therefore,
Christ’s paramount concern when he was in the flesh was to give glory to the
true God. People thus saw him as a perfect man, calling his Father greater
than him and his God. In all things Christ was the supreme example for
humankind, giving glory to God the Father in everything. (Imad N. Shehadeh, God
With Us and Without Us, 2 vols. [Carlisle, U.K.: Langham Global Library,
