In his book, Witness for His Names, Jeffrey R. Holland understands “God” in Titus 2:13 to be a reference to, not the Father, but Jesus:
Christ Great God and Our Saviour
Jesus
TITUS 2:13 (Jeffrey R. Holland, Witness
for His Names [Salt Lake City: Deseret Book, 2019], 32; repeated elsewhere
on pp. 89, 135)
For those familiar with the Granville Sharp Rule, and Daniel
Wallace's scholarship nuancing it, this is rather interesting, as the KJV is ambiguous
and favours the Father being the θεος
in the verse.
