In a recent paper answering some purported biblical contradictions, Catholic apologist Robert Sungenis provided an interpretation of Exo 6:3 that mirrors that of Joseph Smith in the JST:
God’s name
Genesis 22:14- Abraham knows the name
of God and names a place after it. Exodus 6:3- God says He definitely didn’t
share his name before Moses
R.
Sungenis: This is a common mistake, that is, to make Exodus 6:3 an indicative
sentence, but it is actually an interrogative rhetorical sentence, e.g., “Did
they not know my name Yahweh?” They certainly did since the name Yahweh starts
at Genesis 2:4 and is repeated dozens of times up to and including Abraham. (Robert Sungenis, "15 Alleged Bible
Contradictions from an Atheist," copy in my possession, pp. 8-9)
