Ancient Armenian Prayer before the Eucharist: An Affirmation of Baptismal Regeneration and the Salvific Necessity of the Eucharist

In an ancient Armenian prayer before the reception of the Eucharist, we find the Ancient Armenian Christian affirmation of (1) baptismal regeneration and (2) the Eucharist being a means of receiving forgiveness of post-baptismal sins:

O Lord our God, who from the Name of thine only-begotten Son hast called us to be Christians, and hast given us the Baptism of the new birth for the remission of sins: Make us, we beseech thee, worthy now to receive this Communion for the forgiveness of our sins, and to give thanks with grateful hearts, as to thee so to the Son and to the Holy Ghosts, now and forever. (Armenian Liturgy [prayer at the commingling] translated by William Bright, Ancient Collects, p. 136, as cited by Luther D. Reed, The Lutheran Liturgy: A Study of the Common Liturgy of the Lutheran Church in America [rev ed.; Philadelphia: Fortress Press, 1960], 619)
