According to Protestantism, sola scriptura teaches the formal not just material sufficiency of the Bible. Furthermore, scriptura for a Protestant is exhausted by the Bible (for Protestants, the Bible = the tota of scriptura). So here is a question for Protestants: Where in the biblical texts does it explicitly state that the end of special revelation ceased with the inscripturation of the final book of the New Testament? (and no, Rev 22:18-19 does not teach this [see here, here, and here for previous blog posts exegeting this passage]).
Again, sola scriptura, the formal doctrine of the Reformation, is a self-defeating proposition.
