I just found out that Bill Hartley, a former professor at BYU and former Research Historian at the LDS Church Historical Department, passed away. In the words of my favourite Gregorian Chant, Dies Irae:
Bill wrote a number of important articles on the history and development of the Priesthood in the Latter-day Saint tradition. They were compiled into a volume published by BYU Studies Press:
My Fellow Servants: Essays on the History of the Priesthood
As some already know, I have a volume on the LDS theology of the Priesthood:
After the Order of the Son of God: The Biblical and Historical Evidence for Latter-day Saint Theology of the Priesthood
Pie Jesu Domine, Dona eis requiem. Amen.
