James Fodor vs. Cameron Bertuzzi on Joseph Smith

James Fodor (a former Latter-day Saint) has an excellent video showing that Cameron Bertuzzi is frankly full of nonsense when it comes to Joseph Smith:

What makes a good prophecy?: Responding to more Christian Apologetics nonsense

Fodor is spot-on when he says that Joseph Smith never used 2 Nephi 3//JST Genesis 50 as proof he was a prophet; in fact, he never appealed to it as an apologetic for his prophethood. One can see this by examining the Scripture Citation Index Website hosted by BYU, for e.g.  Furthermore, there are instances in the NT where no manuscript fits the Old Testament quotation (e.g., Matthew's use of Micah 5:2 [Hebrew 5:1]), though Cameron will not tell you that (as he is both dishonest and ignorant).

I do have notes from a Gospel Doctrine class from February on 2 Nephi 3-5, where I show evidence from the Targums that show that JST Genesis 50//2 Nephi 3 may preserve an authentic tradition of Joseph of Egypt prophesying of Aaron and Moses (which is also part of the relevant text). One can download the powerpoint here.

BTW, Cameron Bertuzzi is a grifter.
