What then
shall we do with those who have a sincere but misled idea of losing their
salvation? The answer is to send them back to Christ to hear the gospel all
over again and hope they will be able to hear with ears divinely opened. If
they reject the grace of salvation on the basis of Christ’s death alone then we
have no place else to put them since they put themselves among those who
crucify Christ again unto themselves and put Him to pen shame (Hebrews 6:6).
We should encourage Christians to mark well the biblical pattern. There is no
remedy for an alleged loss of salvation short of an examination of one’s faith
to see whether or not one passes this text (2 Corinthians 13:5). (Robert M.
