Our first mother, Eve, had children before Cain, and she
bore them in obedience to the command of God, "To multiply and replenish
the earth," not because of her desires to her husband. The children before
Cain, were unbelievers in the Gospel and went into another part of the world to
live because of their dislike to the Gospel, and after Cain could no longer be
saved by the Gospel, he went away also and married one of his brother's
daughters. (Oliver B. Huntington, History
