Ezra D. Gifford (1860-1953), a Church of God in Christ Jesus (AKA Church of the Blessed Hope) pastor and theologian, wrote in his multi-volume systematic theology that Dan 7:9-10
speaks of the reign of the
Ancient of Days, which is Jesus, for Micah (5:2) speaks of him as going forth
from of old, that is, from the old types and shadows. Now read farther in this
7th chapter of Dan., verses 13 to 15, how that this Ancient of Days, this Son
of Man, gives up this kingdom to One like him, but greater than he and whose
dominion will not pass away. The reign of Jesus on David's anti-typical throne
will be so glorious that it will be the throne of God as well as of the Lamb,
so Jesus as representing God will be called God in the representative sense.
Heb. 1:8, even the Lord that made heaven and earth, Heb. 1:10-12, and the
