KJV Gen 19:24 reads:
Then the Lord rained upon Sodom
and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven.
Both OT 1 and OT 2 of the JST reads differently, and seems to downplay the
potential for this as an Old Testament “proof-text” for two Yahwehs/LORDs:
Old Testament Manuscript 1, p. 48:
the
Lord reghned rained upon Sodom and upon Gom =morrah for the
Angels called up<on> the name of the Lord for brimstone and fire from the
Lord out of heaven
Old Testament Manuscript 2, p. 49:
the
Lord rained upon Sodom& upon Gomorrah, fire & brimstone for the
Angel<s> called upon the name of the Lord for brimstone & fire, from
the Lord out of Heaven[,]<;>
This passage in the 1867 RLDS Inspired
Version reads:
And
then, when Lot had entered into Zoar, the Lord rained upon Sodom, and upon
Gomorrah; for the angels called upon the name of the Lord for brimstone and
fire from the Lord out of heaven. (Gen 19:31 in the JST versification)
