The
contention that Cornelius was saved before Peter’s visit is invalid. He was a
godfearing man as indicated in Acts 10:2. But Scripture declares that he was
not saved. Cornelius was told by an angel that Peter was to be summoned to tell
him words by which he and all his house should “be saved” (Ac 11:14). (Merrill
