I refer throughout this chapter to the “Re[e]d” Sea since
“Red” is the traditional nomenclature, but “Reed” is often thought to be a more
appropriate translation (Hoffmeier 2005, 83–5); as the issue is not relevant to
the present discussion of Habakkuk 3, there is no need to resolve it here and “Re[e]d”
