Meeting of the School of the Prophets. Singing by the Brethren. Prayer by Thomas Davenport. S. S. Barton Spoke alluded to his recent sickness which had kept him away from the School. Said the brethren manifested a greater flow of the Spirit here than in other meetings. Bore his testimony to the truth of the work felt well. William Adams was glad to be a member of the school and was edified by the teachings of its members. Knew it was a time of trial for the Saints. When the Gospel was revealed to the Prophet Joseph almost all men objected to his ministry on account of their unbelief in further revolation for this Cause the Lord allowed them to be deceived with strong delusion. Spiritualism is the chief of those delusions, and is believed there in Parowan as (end p. 96) well as infidelity. Owning to the minera(l) wealth that has been revealed in this Territory he believed that the test that Bro. (Heber ?) spoke of is coming, felt to contend earnestly for the faith of the Saints. C. C. Pendleton remarked that although far from well yet he was always desirous of speaking in defence of the cause of truth and serving God whether Sick or well. Daniel Allen Said that the Savior told the Jews that their homes should be left unto them desolate until the time of the Gentiles should come in. I heard Joseph the Prophet say that he had seen John the Revelator and had a long conversation with him, who told him that he was John their leader, Prophet Priest and King, And Said that he was preparing that people to return, and further Said that there is a mighty host of us, And Joseph further Said that men might hunt for them but they could not find them for they were upon a portion of this planet that had been broken off and which was taken away and the sea (end p. 156) rushed in between Europe and America, and that when that piece returned there would be a great shake the sea would then moove to the north where it belonged in the morning of creation.
