Fred C. Collier's Account of Ross Le Baron's Identification of the "Elias" in D&C 110 with Noah

In the spring of 1974 Ross W. LeBaron received a revelation pertaining to the mission of Noah when he appeared to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdrey on April 3rd, 1836; in the Kirtland Temple. When Noah appeared he did so in the name of Elias (See D&C 110:12). Ross and I discussed his revelation on a number of occasions occassions and the following is the substance of it as best as I can remb remember.

“Noah appeared in the name of Elias because he came as a forerunner to prepare the way for something greater, the mission of Elijah, who came after him. Noah came as a forerunner in that he committed the birthright to Joseph and Oliver so that they might rightly hold the necessary offices to officiate as the Presiding Patriarchs over all the earth in the Patriarchal Priesthood which Elijah restored shortly afterward, Noah committed to Joseph the birthright to be the presiding Patriarch over all the earth, that is “The right of the Firstborn” and to Oliver was committed the birthright of being “Patriarch to the Gentiles”.

Committed to writing on 11-19-74 (taken from “Research Journal of Fred C. Collier,” transcription by Linda Hansen, 1993)
