Philip W. Comfort on Jude 9

Jude 9

In the expression, επιτιμησαι σοι κυριος (“[the] Lord rebuke you”), the last word in all three editions (TR WH NU) is κυριος (“Lord”), with good testimony: 𝔓72 A C Maj. A few manuscripts (א 1505) add a definite article, and a few others (א* 1739 1881) change it to ο θεος (“God”). In B* Ψ the expression is επιτιμησαι εν σοι κυριος, showing scribal conformity to Zech 3:2 (LXX), the verse quoted here. (Philip W. Comfort, New Testament Text and Translation Commentary: Commentary on the Variant Readings of the Ancient New Testament Manuscripts and How They Relate to the Major English Translations [Carol Stream, Ill.: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc., 2008], 803)
