I am cross-posting this from youtube. This can be seen as an open challenge to any mainstream Roman Catholic apologist.
Seeing that many LDS/RC debates have been either (1) attempts by Jimmy Akin to gish gallop or (2) other pop-level Catholic apologists dealing with non-specialists and still losing (e.g., Jacob Hansen defeating Trent Horn on the Book of Mormon), I propose the following two *specific* debates. (1) "The Immaculate Conception of Mary is Apostolic in Origin" (obviously, the RC will affirm and I will deny) and (2) "The Book of Abraham is a 19th-century translation of an Ancient Text" (I will affirm; the RC will deny) I proposed these debates to Stephen Murphy to be hosted on his (excellent) "Mormonism with the Murph" channel. Alternatively, I am happy to have it hosted on any large RC channel as long as the moderator is neutral or someone we both agree upon. If someone like Trent, Joe, or (if he admits in public he wanted to gish gallop and apologize for his behavior on two occasions) Akin, or some other similar apologist wishes to debate these specific topics, I am game.
