Mary's Freedom from Actual/Person Sin Affirmed by Pope Pius V (October 1, 1567)

The following is taken from “Ex omnibus afflictionibius” (October 1, 1567) issued by Pius V. It lists a number of condemned propositions forwarded by Michael du Bay. Note that it is condemned to believe that Mary was guilty of actual/personal sin:

1073 [DS 1973] 73. No one except Christ is free from original sin; hence, the Blessed Virgin died because of sin contracted from Adam, and all of her afflictions in this life as well as those of other just persons were the punishments for actual sin, or for original sin. (The Sources of Catholic Dogma, ed. Henry Denzinger and Karl Rahner [trans. Roy J. Deferrari; St. Louis, Miss.: B. Herder Book Co., 1954], 310)

Ergo, it is a mortal sin to knowingly reject the personal sinlessness of Mary, not just Mary’s freedom from original sin.
