That the church of Christ was to
be emmently conspicuous and visible we collect from the following words of the
Prophet Isaiah “It shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of
the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be
exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it” (Isa. ii 2). This shows
that the church of Christ was to be visible and known to all the world. (William
Palmer, A Treatise on the Church of Christ: Designed Chiefly for the Use of Students
in Theology, 2 vols. [3d ed.; London: J. G. F. & J. Rivington, 1842],
1:22)
