Joseph William Hunkin (Anglican; 1887-1950) on 1 Maccabees 4:59

  

59. The Feast of Hanukkah, mentioned Jn 10:22, and called by Josephus (Ant., XII, vii, 7) Lights, was observed for the first four centuries by the Church as well as by the Synagogue.
