Patrick Shawn McKay (RLDS) Interpreting the “Stick of Joseph” of Ezekiel 37 to be the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Church History

Commenting on 2 Nephi 3:12 (RLDS: 2 Nephi 2:19):

Wherefore, the fruit of thy loins shall write;
and the fruit of thy loins of Judah shall write;

(THE BIBLE). This was prophesied of in Ezekiel These are two records, the stick of Joseph (THE BOOK OF MORMON AND THE DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS AND CHURCH HISTORY) and the stick Judah of 37:16-19: "Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions; then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions; And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand. And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not show us what thou meanest by these? Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand,"

The stick of Judah we know to be the Bible; it contains the history and the revelations of God. The Book of Mormon also contains the history of Manasseh and the revelations of God. The Book of Covenants contains the revelations of the tribe of Ephraim and the church history tells the background of this people.

Stick of Judah

=

The Bible with its revelations and history of Israel.

Stick of Joseph

=

The Book of Mormon with its revelations and history.

=

The Doctrine and Covenants which is the revelations to Ephraim, along with church history.

“And put them (THE BOOK OF MORMON AND THE DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS AND CHURCH HISTORY) with him (THE BIBLE), even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mind hand.” (Patrick S. McKay, The Choice Seer [Independence, Miss.: Patrick S. McKay, 1978], 4)

I do find it interesting that the author did not believe the "Stick of Joseph" to be the Book of Mormon merely, but the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants and Church history.
