Jimmy Akin: Intellectual Fraud

As everyone knows, I tried to get Jimmy Akin to have a moderated debate with me on two occasions (on one occasion, I even was willing to defend the authenticity of the Book of Abraham), and on both occasions, he wanted to gish gallop. Don’t take my word for it; you can read the exchanges here.

Recently, Christian Wagner (who is one of my favorite Catholic content creators on YouTube) has had a to-and-fro with Jimmy Akin concerning Mary’s freedom from actual/personal sin, and I honestly believe any Catholic who takes Akin seriously anymore is coping and seething. How so? Akin does not have a clue about basic Mariological issues, such as thinking that the Debitum Peccati debate has to do with Mary’s freedom from personal sin(!) See this book by Juniper Carol for more. On this, see:

Response to Jimmy Akin. (Part 1)

St. Alphonsus Liguori AGAINST Jimmy Akin (a prime demonstration of Akin's penchant for quote mining)

This year has not been kind to Akin; another two Roman Catholic apologists have demonstrated that he has lied through his teeth concerning Catholic teaching to make it palatable to Protestants.

Sungenis appeared on the Reformed Protestant podcast, "Iron Sharpens Iron" to discuss Akin's dissembling about "anathemas" in Catholic theology on Jun 21, 2024:

For Akin, the answer is "yes" as long as it is done with sophistry and for the good of Mother Church (and his pocket book)!
