1 Καὶ ἔλαβεν τὴν κάλπην καὶ ἐξῆλθεν
γεμίσαι ὕδωρ· καὶ ἰδοὺ φωνὴ λέγουσα· χαῖρε κεχαριτωμένη, ὁ κύριος μετὰ σοῦ, εὐλογημένη
σὺ ἐν γυναιξίν. καὶ περιεβλέπετο δεξιὰ καὶ ἀριστερά, πόθεν αὕτη ἡ φωνή. καὶ
σύντρομος γενομένη ἀπίει εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτῆς καὶ ἀνέπαυσεν τὴν κάλπην, καὶ λαβοῦσα

πάντων δεσπότου, καὶ συλλήψῃ ἐκ λόγου αὐτοῦ. ἡ δὲ ἀκούσασα διεκρίθη ἐν ἑαυτῇ
λέγουσα· εἰ ἐγὼ συλλήψομαι ἀπὸ κυρίου θεοῦ ζῶντος, καὶ γεννήσω ὡς πᾶσα γυνὴ
γεννᾷ; 3 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ ἄγγελος κυρίου· οὐχ οὕτως, Μαρίμ· δύναμις γὰρ κυρίου ἐπισκιάσει
σοι· διὰ καὶ τὸ γεννώμενον ἐκ σοῦ ἅγιον κληθήσεται υἱὸς ὑψίστου. καὶ καλέσεις τὸ
ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ἰησοῦν· αὐτὸς γὰρ σώσει τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτῶν. καὶ
εἶπεν Μαριάμ· ἰδοὺ ἡ δούλη κυρίου κατενώπιον αὐτοῦ· γένοιτό μοι κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμά

11.1 And she took the pitcher and
went forth to fill it with water. And behold, she heard a voice saying,
“Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you; you are blessed
among women.” And she looked ⌊all around⌋ to see from
where this voice came. And frightened, she went into her house and set down the
pitcher, and took the purple and sat down upon her seat and stretched it.
2 And behold, an angel of the
Lord stood before her, saying, “Fear not, Mary, for you have found grace before
the Master of all things, and you will conceive of his word.” And she, when she
heard it, questioned ⌊in her mind⌋, saying, “Will I myself conceive of the living God, and ⌊give
birth⌋
after the manner of all women?”
And the angel of the Lord said, “Not
so, Mary, for a power of the Lord will overshadow you. Therefore also the holy
one that will be born of you will be called the Son of the Highest. And you
will call his name Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins.” And
Mary said, “Behold the slave of the Lord is before him. Let it be unto me
