The perfect participle form of χαριτοω in Clement of Alexandria's Text of Sirach 9:8 in The Instructor Book 3

  

Clement din Alexandria scrie în Pedagogul (III.1 1.83.3), citând din Sir. 9:8: „Întoarce-ţi ochiul de la femeia plină de farmec (απο γυναικος κεχαριτωμενης) şi nu te uita la frumuseţe străină." Textul lui Clement diferă de cel din Septuaginta (απο γυναικος ευμορφου„de la femeia frumoasă la chip"), probabil fiindcă teologul alexandrin foloseşte o recensiune uşor diferită a textului biblic. Clement of Alexandria writes in the Paedagogus (III.1 1.83.3), quoting from Sir. 9:8: "Turn away your eye from a charming woman (απο γυναικος κεχαριτωμενης) and do not look at the beauty of a stranger." Clement's text differs from that of the Septuagint (απο γυναικος ευμορφου "from a woman beautiful in appearance"), probably because the Alexandrian theologian uses a slightly different recension of the biblical text.
