כלם מנאפים. המלך עם השרים וגם העם נשמעים

Radak on Hosea 7:4:1
“They are all adulterers.” The king, together with the officials, and the
people as well, obey them. He likens the heat of adultery to the heat of fire,
and says that they are like a burning oven. “From the baker” — that is,
the baker has heated it and kindled it in order to bake bread in it. The great
heat of the oven and its kindling is the period during which the baker leaves
off stirring the women who bake in it so as to warm it. That period is from the
kneading of the dough until it leavens; for when he puts wood into the oven to
heat it, he tells the women to knead, and he leaves off stirring them until the
dough has risen, according as he estimates in his heart. Then he summons them
to come with their dough to bake. This is the measure of heating the oven. He
says that they are burning in adultery like an oven at the time it is heated.

“Burning” — the accent is on the penultimate syllable, on the ʿayin;
the heh is extra, since tannur is a masculine noun.

“From stirring” — meaning “from stirring up.” Jonathan translated: “They
all are inflamed,” etc. And my father, of blessed memory, explained: “he leaves
off stirring” refers to the impulse that stirs them; if he stops, it is not for
long, only from the kneading of the dough until it leavens.

“Its leavening” — an infinitive form, like to have compassion on you,
or else a noun on the pattern of unclean.
